The New Year is here and it is time to bring some brightness into our homes. The weather is still pretty cold in England and it doesn’t look like it’s over just yet. This year the colour schemes you will see appear in our homes are a mixture between dark and bright. Focusing on bright, warm, uplifting colours to go with the hopefully feeling we are all experiencing this year, mixed with the modern moody colours from the past year, lots of earth tones, blues, greens and bright pinks will be the centre of attention this year. Keep reading for the full rundown on the top colour trends coming this way?

1. Neutral colour palettes with an organic twist

If 2020 taught us anything, it is that we need to start looking after our homes more. Not just our houses, but our planet! This year sparks a growing popularity in sustainable living, swapping artificial colouring for natural, refreshing materials in our homes. Organic shapes and real plants will appear more and more throughout the year with clean lines still being the main area of design. Bursts of rich colour will appear also with lots of patterns and layers to give that warm vibe throughout the winter months and refreshing atmosphere throughout the summer season.

2. Uplifting Warm Tones

Lots of happy and hopefuly colours will begin to rise this year. Warm tones such as pinks, peaches and greens will begin to rise in the stores and decorating will become very focused on earth tones with those bursts of flavour to create an uplifting and happy home.

3. Accessorizing with Gold

In the spirit of the hopeful year ahead, a turn from silver accessories to golden pieces will increase to match the warm appeal we are seeing throughout the nation this year. Easy on the eye and a natural, feminine look goes perfectly with the chosen colour schemes of green, blue and pink.

4. Add some drama with Black

Even though this year is looking up, we are not out of the dog house yet as the pandemic is still very much a part of our society. The moody vibe of this year is still shown in our homes, but this does not have to be a bad thing. Black colours have been seen to create a bit of drama and interest into homes and paired with the rich, warm earth tones, leaving for a beautiful colour scheme that really makes you feel right at home.

5. Earth Tones

I’ve mentioned this a few times but what does it really mean? Well… the colours mainly associated with the nature of the earth. Browns, creams, greens, blues and golden shades all complimenting the outside world. This year has been spent inside our homes and the growing desire to introduce the outside world inside our living space can transform your home into a pure beauty.

The mixture of rich, uplifting colours and natural, organic shapes and textures can leave your home feeling calm and relaxed with a beautiful element of the outdoors. The airy space and clean lines will create a home that not only looks beautiful, but will begin to look after your mental and spiritual connection to the earth, helping you look after the planet as well as yourself and everyone else along the way.
